A child cannot consciously confess faith or express agreement with its basic provisions, therefore, when they baptize children, they do it on the basis of the faith of the parents and the surety of the godparents. Thus, the parents and godparents are responsible for the further upbringing of children in Christianity. Parents and godparents should be able to read the Creed (not necessarily by heart, you can read it), know the prayer “Our Father”, read at least one Gospel. Being a member of the Church — by participating in the Church life, a Christian ceases to depend on evil, the devil, and the world; on the contrary, neglecting this participation, quickly becomes dependent on evil, slipping into sinful life.
